The trumpet is an aerophonic musical instrument with a cup-shaped metal mouthpiece, which belongs to the family of brass instruments. The Trumpet School is currently attended by 12 children who are learning this musical instrument, which is perhaps the most famous instrument of the Band.<\/p>\n\n
In its original form, as a trumpet, it was used by the ancient Greeks, and then passed on to the Egyptians, the Jews and the Romans, made first of wood, later of metal (bronze, silver) and finally (as today) of copper. It consisted of a long pipe in various lengths that since the end of the 1st century AD was widened, ending in a medium-sized bell.<\/p>\n\n
As the inability of the instrument to produce all the notes of the scale remained, since the end of the 18th century an attempt was made to introduce a mechanism that would help in the production of all the sounds. At the beginning of the 19th century, pistons were introduced, first two, then three and four, which allowed the execution of all color sounds of a scale. Since then, it is called a piston trumpet, in contrast to the older natural trumpet.<\/p>\n\n
It was introduced to the orchestra as a military musical instrument in the early 17th century, but became better known during the 19th century. It has a penetrating and bright tonal hue and great technical possibilities. The development of the skill in its handling has made many composers use it as a melodic instrument of the same agility as the woodwinds and so the trumpet is today considered a very popular instrument of orchestra and band, especially in the traditional music of Macedonia and Lamia, as well as jazz music.<\/p>\n\n
